0 0Making Pay Work Credit | See Question Detail
I was laid off in Feb. of 2009 and on unemployment insurance for the remainder of 2009. After itemizing for mortgage interest, RE taxes, etc... I came up to an amount so low that it showed no tax owed by me. H&R block software actually shows me as getting back more money though that was withheld in taxes due to the Making Pay Work Credit. So I had $3073 withheld during the year and the software says that I am getting a Federal return of $3274 ($201 more than I had withheld). Is this a glitch or can I remove this somehow? I can't imagine getting back more money than I had withheld. Thanks DaveAsked by dizaved - Answered 57 minutes ago

0 0Do I need to / how should I claim cleaning one house resulting in $1400 and $174 earned as a 1099 contractor. We file a 1040 for my husbands income. | See Question Detail
Do I need to / how should I claim cleaning one house resulting in $1400 and $174 earned as a 1099 contractor. We file a 1040 for my husbands income. I thought I was finished with my return by claiming the $1400 and writing it in as HSH on the wages line as instructed by the book, but then I got concerned about the other $174. I think as a contractor if it is under $400 I don't need to file for it, but I was not sure how that applied since I made the money cleaning and also filing for my husband's income. Thanks for your help :)Asked by womandagreen - Answered 5 hours ago
